Suspect detained in stabbing at Mesa home that left man dead

A man is dead and a suspect detained after a stabbing at a home in Mesa on Saturday night, authorities said.

Officers were called to a home near Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway and McDowell Road around 10:20 p.m. for reports of a stabbing, according to the Mesa Police Department.

When police arrived at the residence, they found a man with apparent stab wounds and provided lifesaving efforts. However, he was pronounced dead by Mesa Fire and Medical Department crews at the scene.

Authorities did not release the man or suspect’s identity.

Homicide detectives are investigating the deadly incident.
