Pets available for adoption as Wake County Animal Center hits capacity; received 226 animals in 9 days

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The Wake County Animal Center has more than 650 current animals, hitting capacity with an immediate need for adopters and fosters, officials said Thursday.

The only facility in Wake County that accepts every stray, lost, and abandoned pet, the center said that hundreds of pets have found homes so far this summer.
