(NEXSTAR) – Nearly 1.6 million cartons of white and brown eggs have been recalled over possible contamination, according to a voluntary recall notice shared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Specifically, the recall notice from Midwest Poultry Services explains the eggs may be contaminated with the bacterium salmonella enteritidis.
