Former Durham Academy track coach arrested on child pornography charges, school says

Virkler is accused of possessing files of child pornography. He is charged with 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Virkler made his first appearance in Durham County court on July 16 and was not given bond. His next appearance is scheduled for Aug. 5, according to court records.
