Fayetteville man serving at Fort Bragg killed during military operation in Iraq, US officials say

Tuesday as Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton, 30, of Fayetteville.

According to the department, Swinton was killed in action on Sunday during a controlled detonation of a downed one-way unmanned aerial system at Erbil Air Base in Iraq.

Swinton’s death was also announced by the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command.
