Dollar General and Family Dollar shoppers WARNED to check receipts after retailers slapped with fines for overcharging

NEARLY 20 stores in a US state were fined for overcharging shoppers at the checkout during the second quarter of the year.

Shoppers in North Carolina have been told to double-check their receipts after errors in price-scanning systems.

The warning comes after the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services fined 16 stores in 13 counties.
