White House takes victory lap over discovery of 6,600 noncitizens on New Jersey voter rolls

Homeland Security had identified 278,000 noncitizens who had registered to vote in federal elections.

“Our purpose in disclosing this information is not to weaken confidence in elections, but to earn that confidence by confronting vulnerabilities and correcting them very, very quickly,” the president said at the time.
