Pedestrian dies after being hit by 3 cars on I-885 North in Durham, police say

they were struck in the middle lane by a northbound 2018 Nissan Versa near mile marker 12 just before 11:30 p.m.

At least two more vehicles ran then over the pedestrian. They did not remain at the scene, according to Durham police.

Police said the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
