GMP using ‘existing resources’ to guard No 10 North as ‘talks underway over long-term security funding’

The new branch of Downing Street in Manchester city centre, opened for business on Friday (July 24). Prime Minister Andy Burnham told staff ‘this might be the best day of my life’ in an emotional address.

He then spent the day holding meetings and working at the hub, which has been dubbed a ‘situation room for growth’.
