Donald Trump shares first picture of JD Vance’s ‘perfect baby’ after Second Lady Usha gives birth to couple’s 4th child

DONALD Trump has shared the first picture of JD Vance’s newborn son, hailing the infant as a “perfect baby boy” after the Second Family welcomed their fourth child.

The president posted the heart-warming snap on Monday, just hours after Vice President Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance announced the arrival of baby Alec Neel Vance.

“Congratulations! A perfect baby boy for the wonderful Vance family,” Trump wrote alongside the photo.

The touching image showed newborn Alec being cradled by his older brother Vivek, six, while four-year-old sister Mirabel sat proudly beside them.

The family announced the birth on Sunday, with Vance revealing that both mom and baby were doing well after the arrival at Walter Reed Medical Center.

“We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning,” the vice president wrote.

“Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother.”

Vance also praised the medical teams who cared for his family.

“The incredible military doctors and staff members of Walter Reed Medical Center and the White House Medical Unit have been a blessing.

“We are deeply thankful for all they have done for our family.”

The newest addition joins siblings Ewan, eight, Vivek and Mirabel, making the Vances a family of six.

The arrival is also a historic one.

Usha, 40, became the first second lady to give birth while serving in the White House in more than 150 years, with the last sitting vice president to welcome a child in office doing so in the 1800s.

The couple first revealed they were expecting their fourth child in January.

Throughout her pregnancy, Usha continued carrying out official duties, travelling with the vice president until the closing weeks before the birth and filming episodes of her “Storytime with the Second Lady” YouTube series alongside appearances from both Trump and Vance.

Her maternity wardrobe even sparked a political row after the New York Times published a fashion critique suggesting her outfits highlighted her pregnancy as part of a broader pronatalist message.

Usha quickly fired back on X.

“Now that we know the political significance of my $8.75 coral maternity dress from Old Navy, can’t wait to hear what the New York Times has to say about my elastic-waistband pants and compression socks!” she wrote.

“In the meantime, enjoy my pregnancy fashion (or lack thereof) and a good story with your kids on Storytime with the Second Lady.”

Vance also joined in the light-hearted response, writing: “She bought a $50 dress for $8.75. America: meet your next director of the federal budget!”

The vice president has long been outspoken about encouraging family growth in America.

“I want more babies in the United States of America,” he declared during the March for Life rally in Washington DC in 2025.

The couple have also spoken about how conversations following the death of family friend Charlie Kirk helped shape their thinking about expanding their family.

“It was very powerful, what (Erika) said about her own family, and certainly very moving to both of us. I think I had already started to open my mind to the possibility,” Usha told CBS in June.

“I wouldn’t say that this was, for me in any way, the decisive factor. But it came in the middle of a conversation that we were already having.”

Usha also joins White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and Katie Miller, wife of deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, in welcoming a child while serving in Trump’s second administration.
