Residents escape Rock Island house fire but 2 cats die

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) – Emergency crews responded to a house fire in the 700 block of 17th Street in Rock Island at about 11:48 p.m.

Multiple fire crews and fire engines were on scene. Police shut down 17th Street at the intersections of 7th and 8th avenues while crews worked to extinguish the fire.
