44 rip current rescues at NC coast just ahead of Fourth of July weekend

Beach Ocean Rescue reported red flag surf conditions, which indicate a high risk for dangerous rip currents. Hatteras Island Rescue Squad also said there was a high risk for rip currents on Wednesday, when there were several rescues.
